Grand Slam golf legend Gary Player and Irish pop star Ronan Keating joined forces once again for a great cause as they raise funds for children fighting cancer and the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital Oncology Unit.

"Ronan has long been a supporter of our Gary Player Invitational charity tournaments. For me, the greatest reward is that a person as influential as him should be a part of what we are doing and then become inspired to do the same. And I'll always be happy to support that." said Gary Player

The event made its debut last year which successfully raised R1-million and was hosted by Val de Vie Estate this year.

Chas Everitt Luxury Winelands had the privilege to experience Ronan Keating perform at this private charity event and in addition to celebrating this worthy cause, we also celebrated the birthday of Gary Player. Happy 84th birthday Gary!

The funds raised will be used to significantly upgrade the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital Oncology Unit, with the new unit unveiled in August. The unit now includes state-of-the-art technology that will make a significant impact in the fight against childhood cancer and in the lives of the 2 000 children admitted here annually as well as the 5 000 outpatients.

"It's a tremendous privilege for us to host A Night with Ronan Keating presented by Citadel and to welcome two such icons in their fields to our award-winning estate and golf course. We are a development that is grounded in our community and the belief in a better life for all, and we are proud to be able to play a part in assisting Citadel, the Ronan Keating Foundation and the Gary Player Foundation in meeting their own objectives of making a difference and leaving a legacy," said Ryk Neethling, Marketing Director of the Val de Vie Group of Companies.
